[link removed] [[link removed]] I’ve heard from many people who are feeling overwhelmed and angry about the Trump Administration’s attacks on the rule of law and on the livelihoods of countless Americans.

First, Elon Musk and his allies in the Trump Administration unilaterally shut off funding to vital programs that millions of Americans depend on, like Head Start and Meals on Wheels.

Then, Musk and his team accessed sensitive government payment systems that contain private information like Americans’ Social Security numbers — until a court case, temporarily at least, put a stop to it.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump has nominated dangerously unqualified people to run our government and oversee our national security.

And instead of taking any action to lower prices, Trump has issued a series of executive orders that hurt and divide the American people — and test the limits of his power.

If President Trump’s dangerous actions have personally impacted you, your family, or your community, will you take a moment to share your story with me and my team? Hearing directly from folks like you can make a big difference in this fight.

So many folks are eager to get involved, but unsure of the best ways to fight back. And the fact is, being in the minority party in every branch of government makes it difficult to slow any of this down.

But that doesn’t mean we can give up or give in. We can’t let our outrage turn to helplessness. This is a moment that demands action.

To that end, here are seven real, concrete actions every single one of us can take to fight back against this chaos, reduce the harm it causes, and stand up for our communities:

1) Call your Senators. Ask them to vote against, slow down, and block President Trump’s unqualified nominees. You can call the Senate switchboard (202-224-3121) to be connected with your Senators’ offices, or look up their phone numbers to call them directly: [[link removed]]

2) Call your state’s Attorney General’s office and push them to join litigation to stop Trump’s unlawful executive orders and Elon Musk’s billionaire takeover.

3) Invest in your community. Some of the nation’s most important and lifesaving charity organizations are at risk due to the Trump Administration’s actions. There’s never been a better time to donate to an organization whose mission is important to you. (One of my personal favorites is Harvesters Community Food Network, an organization dedicated to fighting hunger in northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri. You can click here [[link removed]] to make a donation!)

4) Find your people. Pick the cause that’s most important to you, find a group of folks in your community who are committed to it, and get involved. If that group doesn’t yet exist, start building it yourself!

5) Help people understand the real-world impact of what’s happening. Post on social media about the Trump actions that most concern you — but help people understand why it matters. When people hear about the federal government, it feels like an abstraction that’s far removed from their daily lives. So, share a story about how what’s happening directly impacts you or people you care about. You can even write a letter to the editor or opinion piece for your local newspaper.

6) Focus on the future — work to elect Democrats in 2025 and 2026. One of the best ways to bring transparency and accountability back to Washington is to flip the House in 2026. We only need to flip three seats, and hold competitive districts like mine [[link removed]] , to get it done.

7) Run for office yourself. We need more leaders who care about real solutions serving in all levels of government. Check out Run For Something [[link removed]] to get started!

I know that these times are difficult. The challenges we’re up against, and the harm we’re seeing every day, are very, very real. But none of us are powerless.

If we stick together, speak out, and use every tool we’ve got to fight for a better future, we will get through this. I promise you that I am going to stay in this fight, and I’m asking you to do the same.

With gratitude,

-Sharice

P.S. If you’ve been impacted by President Trump’s actions, don’t forget to share your story with me and my team!
