Dear John,
Last week we announced the first Major Threat of the session to Oregon’s health and clean air, HB 3119, a bill that will delay Oregon’s clean truck rules. In the same week, the House Climate, Energy, and Environment Committee held a hearing on this bill, deciding to review the comments and testimony and put together questions before reconvening. While many of our members and those in our state’s climate action network took action and put together testimony, we are still facing strong opposition from the trucking industry and big oil, who are both working to delay Oregon’s clean truck rules.
We were overwhelmed by so many of our members springing into action to protect healthy and clean air by opposing HB 3119 — thank you! Unfortunately, the trucking industry and big oil are laser focused on getting this bill across the finish line, so we need even more support now to stop this before the next hearing. What we need now is more resources to gather even more testimonials, educate Oregonians on this Major Threat, and lobby our elected officials. Are you able to make a timely gift of any amount today to stop this Major Threat?
