It’s been exactly one month since multiple devastating wildfires erupted across Southern California, scorching entire neighborhoods and communities. The scale of loss is heartbreaking: Tens of thousands of residents were displaced from their homes and 29 people were killed.
Thanks to the support from humanitarians like you, Americares deployed quickly in response to this disaster. Through local partner clinics and outreach, we’re helping communities recover amid such tragic loss and devastation.

Americares is on the ground making health happen:
- Our teams contacted over 70 regional partners, including 24 health organizations in Los Angeles serving low-income, uninsured patients, ensuring swift coordination of lifesaving supplies to those who need them.
- We immediately deployed an emergency response team to Los Angeles to deliver aid and coordinate shipments to meet the health needs of communities devastated by the wildfire crisis.
- We partnered with clinics and local organizations to distribute over 10,000 N95 masks and other critical resources, such as hygiene kits and respiratory and chronic disease medications.
- Clean drinking water remained a top priority. We delivered truckloads of water to help ensure residents in affected areas had access to safe drinking water.
