Impact Report 4th Quarter 2024

Dear John,
Our work is all about people.
And since you play a big part in this work, I wanted to share how we’ve changed people’s lives together.
1. Thanks to your vote and your support, we elected Josh Stein as Governor and broke the supermajority in the NC House of Representatives. This will help protect people from the federal chaos we see coming from Washington.
2. We’ve reached more than 10,000 folks through our Inflation Reduction Act toolkit website, and we offered personalized assistance for every program listed to help them access this funding.
3. PowerUp NC conducted extensive outreach and organizing around the North Carolina Utility Commission’s (NCUC) decision on Duke Energy’s Carbon Plan. While NCUC failed to hold Duke to their climate goals, PowerUp continues to advocate for climate action.
4. Our Boards and Commissions program started in 2022, but it already serves 17 counties with 27 graduates appointed to boards or commissions and one elected to public office!
5. Power the Vote NC, our nonpartisan voter engagement program, now covers more than 10 counties. The team registered over 36,000 people and made Get Out The Vote (GOTV) outreach to over 800,000 voters.
