How far will you let them go? Take a stand against government overreach today!

Dear John,

Are there things you simply can‘t do or say because of your conscience—or your faith?

The Constitution protects your freedom to live and work consistently with your deeply held beliefs.

But across America, some government officials seek to reshape society. They want to restrict your religious freedom, crush conscience, and silence speech. No amount of compromise will ever be enough to satisfy them.

Do you have a limit on how far you will let them go?

Last year, ADF received more than 4,000 legal requests. Many of these calls come from people of faith like you who are being punished for living out their beliefs. They are small business owners, church members, and students—everyday people like you who simply want to honor God with their life and work.

They refuse to be bullied by government officials any longer. They’re taking a stand.

In the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing some of their stories with you.

You’ll see how government overreach is poisoning our society and threatening your freedom, John.

But government officials can only take as much power as we the people allow them to have. How far will you let them go?

With God’s blessing and your generous support, we can fight back against efforts to strip away your religious freedom.

Will you stand against government overreach by making a gift today?

The government exists to protect your freedom—not take it away

Government officials are getting bolder.

You probably see evidence of this all the time, John.

Maybe you heard about the farmers and veterans who have been targeted by government officials because of their beliefs.

Maybe you read about school officials imposing radical transgender policies on young children and hiding it from parents.

Maybe you’re waiting to see if the U.S. Supreme Court will allow unelected bureaucrats to redefine “sex” in federal law and alter life as we know it.

Maybe you’ve followed the story of Colorado cake artist Jack Phillips these past seven years—you know he’s still fighting for his freedom.

Government abuse of power is increasing. Some officials have gone too far and it’s time to say “Enough!” But to do that, we need your help, John.

Most people would be powerless to defend themselves against their own government. But praise God that because of you, your brave brothers and sisters in Christ have hope. They have allies who will stand with them and fight for them.

Generous Ministry Friends have given a $115,000 challenge grant to stand against government overreach. They want to inspire you to join the fight and give your best gift today.

What happened to Barronelle could happen to any of us—it could happen to you

Several years ago, Washington floral artist Barronelle Stutzman acted on faith when she declined to create custom floral arrangements celebrating a longtime customer’s same-sex wedding.

Barronelle happily served this customer for nearly 10 years. She considered him a friend.

But she knew that because of her Christian beliefs about marriage, she could not participate in or celebrate that particular event.

She walked the customer to a quiet part of her shop, took his hand in her own, and gently told him why she couldn’t do what he asked. Barronelle then referred him to three floral artists who she knew would do a good job for him. The customer said that he understood, and they hugged before he left the shop.

Barronelle thought that was the end of it. But the situation escalated quickly.

The Washington attorney general heard about what happened through news reports and decided to file a lawsuit against Barronelle. This kicked off the legal firestorm that has surrounded Barronelle’s life the past seven years.

Barronelle’s case now rests in the hands of the U.S. Supreme Court. She’s risking a lot—including her business and her life savings—to stay faithful to the Lord and protect freedom for all Americans.

And she’s not the only one.

People like Barronelle desperately need help to defend their God-given right to religious freedom. And because ADF doesn’t charge clients for the legal defense we provide, her fight—their fight—isn’t possible without you.

That’s why your gift to stand up to government overreach is urgently needed now. Not just to fight back—but to win.

Will you rise to the challenge and tell overreaching government officials that you’ve had enough?

There is hope for victory

People like Barronelle refuse to let government officials get away with this abuse of power, but they can’t do it alone. They need someone who will stand with them. They need you, John.

And there is HOPE. When you stand for freedom, great victories follow.

Through God’s blessing (John 15:5) and the generous support of people like you, we’re winning nearly 80 percent of our cases, including ten victories at the U.S. Supreme Court since 2011.

But the battles for freedom are growing more intense.

Government officials that oppose your religious liberty will not give in. They’re doubling down on their efforts to undermine your faith and freedom.

That’s why your tax-deductible gift to stand against government overreach today is so critical.

With every case you fund, every victory you help achieve, and every client you lift up in prayer, you ensure that more of your brothers and sisters in Christ are free to live out their beliefs.

Today, you can say enough is enough. You can help stop government abuse of power and stand for religious freedom. And when you do, your gift will further the impact of the $115,000 challenge grant.

Thank you for giving generously.
