Dear John,
Since the very beginning of this ongoing pandemic, essential workers have been on the front lines, ensuring our communities and families have the food and supplies we need. Each and every day, people go to work armed with little more than a paper mask and plexiglass dividers.
Meet Cyndi, who works at Walmart. She knows firsthand that workers like her are the real people who run our economy. She's an essential worker, but Walmart's inaction has put Cyndi and fellow Walmart workers at dire risk.
Walmart is raking it in during the pandemic, making record profits. Meanwhile, management dragged its feet in implementing safety measures at stores and distribution facilities, and made it nearly impossible for front line workers to receive paid family leave.
It's time Walmart executives listen to their store employees and take their feedback seriously.
TODAY, Walmart workers from around the country are virtually joining together to host their own version of a board meeting – and they're demanding a seat on the Walmart corporate board.

Around the country, Walmart workers are sounding the alarm on the dangerous conditions present inside stores. Had Walmart workers had a seat at the table before the pandemic started, they could've played an instrumental role in preparing and perhaps mitigating the impact on store employees.
Walmart's board is currently made up of wealthy investors and business executives, but lacks the critical voice Walmart workers can provide. It's well past time for workers to have an official voice.
Together, we can join with Cyndi and all the Walmart employees who are ensuring the voices of essential workers are heard. Add your name to the petition. Tell Walmart: hourly workers deserve a seat on the corporate board.
Walmart workers will deliver petitions signatures to executives at the annual shareholders meeting in early June and they need our help to show just how much support is out there for essential workers.
We will emerge from this crisis stronger, but it requires us coming together and standing up for what is right. Thank you for standing with Cyndi and all the essential workers holding the country together.
Sign the petition now.
In Solidarity,
Joel
