Dear John -
The first 100 days of a new administration set the tone for what’s ahead—both the opportunities and the threats. For Save the Boundary Waters, that means a critical moment for the future of this cherished Wilderness. The fight for permanent protection of the Boundary Waters has never been more urgent.
On Wednesday, U.S. Representative Stauber reintroduced his dangerous anti-Boundary Waters bill in Congress. If passed, it would:
❌Open up mining next to the Boundary Waters by reversing the 20-year mining ban.
❌ Hand over federal mineral leases to Chilean mining giant Antofagasta, skipping any review.
❌ Block judicial review of prospecting permits and mineral leases within the watershed of the Boundary Waters and Voyageurs National Park.
We can’t let this happen. The Boundary Waters deserves better.

Our Plan to Fight Back
Over the next three months, we’re launching a major campaign to:
✅ Educate decision-makers and supporters about the ongoing threat of toxic mining and the urgent need for permanent protection. We’ll be sharing expert insights, stories from people who love the Boundary Waters, and breaking down the science behind the fight.
✅ Raise $500,000 by April 30 to fund the legal, legislative, and grassroots advocacy needed to protect the Boundary Waters for good.
✅ Mobilize grassroots supporters to fight back against bad bills and push for permanent protections. We must make our voices heard loud and clear to demand protection before it’s too late.
We’re up against powerful mining interests. Over 80% of the gifts we receive come from individual donors giving $100 or less. People like you power the grassroots movement to protect the Wilderness-–and we need your help.
Rush a gift and as a thank-you, we’ll send you an exclusive Give a Sh*t About the Boundary Waters sticker.
