Governor Kelly’s HAWK Act to
Expand Medicaid Introduced in Kansas Legislature
Governor Kelly speaks about the importance of expanding Medicaid at a roundtable last year
“The Healthcare Access for Working Kansans (HAWK) Act protects our rural hospitals, bolsters our health care workforce, and strengthens our economy — all while coming at no cost to Kansans. In fact, by waiting to expand Medicaid, we have wasted over $280 million and left $7.6 billion on the table in Washington D.C. I encourage the legislature to advance Medicaid expansion this session so we can bring Kansas taxpayer dollars back home to support our health care system.”

Governor Kelly, House and Senate Minority Leaders Support Proposals to Raise Kansas' Minimum Wage
Governor Kelly speaks to a joint session of the Kansas Legislature last month
“There's no reason workers in Kansas should make less than workers in our surrounding states. That's why I'm supporting a proposal in the Kansas Legislature to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour. This commonsense bill will put more money in Kansans' pockets."

Bipartisan Early Childhood Proposal
Introduced in Kansas House and Senate
Governor Kelly speaks at Early Childhood Advocacy Day earlier this week
“By consolidating services, we can better support our youngest Kansans and provide communities with the tools they need to increase access to affordable, quality care.
