Team,
February marks Black History Month. It's a time devoted to reflecting on and celebrating the rich history, resilience, and immense contributions that Black Americans have made in our country from even before our founding.
In too many states and school districts throughout our country, though, this history has become politicized or even erased from classrooms. Voter registration legislation is being implemented in states across the country with a deliberate effort to make it harder for Black Americans to vote. We must work together to stop our country from moving backward.
This month, I invite you to join me in honoring and lifting up the incredible accomplishments and achievements made by Black Americans — both past and present — who've shaped our communities, and making sure we're doing everything we can to keep our country moving forward.
Thank you.
