Team,

In an effort to ramp up mass deportations, the Trump administration rolled back restrictions, allowing ICE agents to arrest immigrants in places that were previously safeguarded, such as houses of worship, schools, and hospitals.

As stated in the BBC, undocumented people are scared to seek medical attention in hospitals, send their children to school, go to work, church, and more. President Trump has pledged to deport “millions and millions” of immigrants, and we are horrified by what we are seeing taking place in our communities.

It was reported that late last week, ICE agents showed up without a warrant at a Puerto Rican restaurant in Pennsylvania under the false assumption that people working there were undocumented. We are seeing these attacks happen across the nation.

To put it simply: this is a human rights issue.

Our thoughts are with immigrant communities as Trump deploys ICE to terrorize our neighbors across the country. The administration is working to instill fear across our nation, and it’s more important now than ever before that we have leaders in our state who are willing to stand up for what’s right.

There are critical local, municipal, and judicial elections happening in Pennsylvania this year. Help us ensure that voters understand their power and show up to the polls by pitching in $5 today.
