John,

In just a few weeks in power, it’s become abundantly clear that Donald Trump and his billionaire cronies are more interested in serving themselves than the needs of hard working Americans. But Democrats are standing strong — fighting to protect American jobs, manufacturing, and taxpayer privacy rights — and for the second time in a week, Donald Trump has backed down.

First, we stood up against his dangerous, illegal funding freeze that would have hurt millions of Americans. And then, just days later, he postponed his reckless tariffs, which would have raised the cost of food, gas, and housing for families all across the country.

In both cases, it was people like you that made the difference, creating the external pressure to surrender to public opinion. Allies have also succeeded in federal courts blocking a variety of illegal executive orders. Together, we successfully pushed back against Trump’s reckless agenda, and we will continue to fight back against harmful, divisive policies.

John, to keep up our fight, we need your support. Grassroots movements like ours are what make victories like these possible. Will you please chip in to help support me as I continue to fight everyday for our workers and families here in our district? We all know that our district relies heavily on manufacturing jobs that are vital to the livelihood of our local economy. If Trump’s tariffs had gone through, it would raise the price of nickel and steel imports from Canada and jobs from shipbuilding to supply chains would have been severely impacted — and this postponement doesn’t mean that we are out of the woods.

So thank you for your support, John, it truly means a lot.

Best,

Joe Courtney
