Congratulations to our new board members
We are incredibly pleased to welcome our new Treasurer - Aaron Luce, and our new At-Large South Director - George Vadino. Both Aaron and George joined us for our latest board meeting on Sunday, and we're very excited to have them aboard our team!
YDWA Virtual Reorganization
Hopefully by now, if you are a member of the Young Democrats of Washington State, you've gotten an email from Spencer Lively, YDWA President, about how the virtual reorganization will go.

If you have not received this email, but you still wish to vote in the reorganization, you will need to submit this form ([link removed]) by June 5th at 11:59pm.

Ballots will be sent out as Google Forms and require each voter provide their name and local chapter (unless voting through petition). These ballots will only remain open for 24 hours from 5pm on June 6th to 5pm on June 7th. After this period, the election results will be certified by 7pm on June 7th and transmitted to the organization’s membership.


** How do I run for a position on the board?

YDWA President Spencer Lively lays it out in the email:
Positions to be elected include the following:
* President
* Executive Vice-President
* Vice President of Operations
* Vice President of Membership Engagement
* Vice President of Government Affairs
* Vice President of Communications
* Eastern Region Director
* Southern Region Director
* Western Region Director

If you are interested in running for any of the above positions, you must email [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) and [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) by May 30th to provide your name and the position(s) for which you plan to run. Each candidate may also provide to those same emails a written statement and video by 5pm, June 1st at the latest to be provided to all members in good standing by 8pm, June 1st. The maximum length of these materials are as follows:

Presidential Candidates:
* Statement of no more than 500 words and a video no longer than three (3) minutes.

Executive Board Candidates:
* Statement of no more than 350 words and a video no longer than two (2) minutes.

Regional Directors:
* Statement of no more than 250 words and a video no longer than one (1) minute.

Eligibility of candidacy shall be limited to persons who declare themselves to be Democrats and have not yet turned thirty-six years old. There is no criteria other than age or party preference.
