Donald Trump's heinous stop-work order on USAID-funded research has left thousands of people with experimental drugs and devices in their bodies, with no access to monitoring or care. In interviews, scientists — who are forbidden by the terms of the stop-work order to speak with the news media — described agonizing choices: violate the stop-work orders and continue to care for trial volunteers, or leave them alone to face potential side effects and harm. In England, about 100 people have been inoculated with an experimental malaria vaccine in two clinical trials. Now, they no longer have access to the clinical trial staff if that vaccine were to cause an adverse reaction in their bodies. Had the trial not been frozen, the participants would be coming to a clinic routinely to be monitored for adverse physical effects, and to have blood and cell samples taken to see whether the vaccine was working. The participants are meant to be followed for two years to assess the vaccine’s safety. An anonymous scientist who worked on the trial said: "It’s unethical to test anything in humans without taking it to the full completion of studies. You put them at risk for no good reason."

Elon Musk’s illegal blitz through the US federal government has triggered a "constitutional emergency," a senior Democrat has finally warned, demanding the launch of an impartial investigation into the mega-billionaire bozo's hugely problematic access to sensitive data. Bobby Scott, the ranking member of the House Committee on Education and Workforce, demanded that the Government Accountability Office, a nonpartisan federal watchdog agency, launch an immediate investigation into "interventions" by Musk and his so-called "DOGE" team into various federal departments’ IT systems, the legality of such moves and what it means "for children and vulnerable workers." Scott wrote, "This is a constitutional emergency. Insofar as the Inspectors General of the Departments of Education, Labor, and Health and Human Services have been fired by President Trump, there is now a void of oversight for a very young and inexperienced team and their leader, the world’s richest man … as they gain dangerously broad powers."

But White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt boasted that more than 100 members of the gang were deported from Colorado on Wednesday. Venezuela, it's worth noting, has refused to accept any deported citizens from the US, so it's unclear where those rounded up were allegedly sent. But wait, there's more! Trump's own Defense Dept. reported that 10 members of Tren de Aragua rounded up in the raid were sent to Guantanamo Bay. You'd think Trump's cronies would want to at least attempt to get on the same page before gaslighting the public, or, more likely, they think we're too stupid to care.
