That’s why we’re proud to announce that Thom recently reintroduced the Protect and Serve Act and the Justice for Fallen Law Enforcement Act, two pieces of legislation that aim to protect law enforcement officers and punish criminals who target them.
The statistics are grim, but they underscore the critical need for this type of legislation. According to the National Fraternal Order of Police, 342 officers were shot in the line of duty last year—and 50 of them made the ultimate sacrifice. These bills send a clear message: We stand with law enforcement, and we won’t tolerate violence against those who protect us.
