HB1246 RELATING TO CANNABIS: The legalization of cannabis will be voted on the floor for second reading today February 6, 2025 and it will head to Consumer Protection and Commerce Committee (CPC) for hearing.
HB22: RELATING TO COLLABORATION WITH THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT
HB22 RELATING TO COLLABORATION WITH THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT: This measure prohibits law enforcement agencies from detaining, transferring, or obtaining information from an individual for the purposes of immigration enforcement or investigation, except in specific circumstances. These circumstances include; if the individual is a convicted felon, gives probable cause to believe they are or have been involved in terrorist activity, or if the request is accompanied by a judicial warrant. The measure passed out of the Economic Development & Technology (ECD) and is going to the floor next for a second reading.
HB73: RELATING TO IMMIGRATION DETENTION FACILITIES
HB73 RELATING TO IMMIGRATION DETENTION FACILITIES: This measure prohibits the Department of Land and Natural Resources and the Board of Land and Natural Resources from disposing of or approving the use or setting aside of public lands to establish any immigration detention facility. It also prohibits state and county agencies from contracting with the federal government or processing any permit for this purpose. This measure passed the second reading and is going to the Water & Land (WAL) committee next.
SB297: PROPOSES A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT TO THE CONSTITUTION OF THE STATE OF HAWAII TO PROTECT THE RIGHT TO REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM
SB297 PROPOSES A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT TO THE CONSTITUTION OF THE STATE OF HAWAII TO PROTECT THE RIGHT TO REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM: Amends the Hawaiʻi State Constitution to prohibit the State from denying or interfering with an individual's reproductive freedom, including the right to choose to obtain an abortion and to obtain or use contraceptives. This measure passed unamended from the Health and Human Services (HHS) and will go to the floor for a second reading and move to Judiciary (JDC)/Ways and Means (WAM).  
HB1118: RELATING TO NON-MEDICAL EXEMPTIONS TO IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS
HB1118 RELATING TO NON-MEDICAL EXEMPTIONS TO IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS: Repeals the non-medical exemption from immunization requirements and will be heard in committee on February 7, 2025, at 8:45 AM Conference Room 329. To submit testimony and view the agenda click here.

  • Testify Remotely: You can register online to receive a Zoom link for the hearing and participate remotely on the day of the hearing.
  • In-Person Testimony: Attend the hearing at the Hawaii State Capitol.
