Hi John:
It’s not right: MAGA Republicans are wasting no time in their control of Washington trying to ERASE Black history - and in a month where, in normal times, it’s celebrated.
At West Point, historic clubs for Black cadets are being disbanded. Education Department officials are sending out signals that TEACHING Black history will result in penalties and denial of funds for school districts and universities. And Donald Trump is working at lightning speed, and in tandem with this MAGA Congress, to reverse the gains of the Civil Rights Movement.
I’m Gay Valimont and I’m the Florida Democrat running in a special election April 1st to replace MAGA Matt Gaetz.
Erasing Black history and trying to disappear the legacy of the Civil Rights Movement - which achieved great gains here in the Panhandle and the rest of Florida - is flat wrong and I will stand up against it while in Congress. But I need your help.
Are you able to give $10? Or $25? Or $50? Or more? Split with Hold Them Accountable.
As a native of the Deep South and a community advocate in Florida’s First Congressional District, I KNOW that the legacy of racism is real. But I also know that most people from BOTH PARTIES are good-hearted and willing to learn more about their neighbor - when given the chance.
What the MAGA people are doing now, in Congress and the White House, is trying to deny a whole generation of Americans knowledge about the mistakes of the past and about the struggles so many generations of Black people endured to get us where we are. And also about the heroism and contributions of so many Floridians.
Can you help my campaign with $5 or $10 or $50 -- split with Hold Them Accountable -- to help me stand up to my MAGA extremist opponent who will help to ERASE Black History?
Please contribute and know that I will stand up to ignorance - and to ensure that we don’t repeat the ugly mistakes of the past.
In celebration of Black History Month,
Gay Valimont
Democratic Nominee, FL01
