From our essential workers to our elderly, we’re seeing how working families
and vulnerable communities fare when they don’t have someone fighting for them.

COVID-19 is disproportionately affecting people of color and low-income
communities, like the ones Gina and I grew up in here in San Antonio. From
higher than average rates of infection and death, to a lack of resources and
protections available for our essential workers and those who have been laid
off, our most vulnerable populations are struggling to get by and wondering if
they’ll get through this.

There’s no doubt in my mind that when Gina gets to Congress, she will be a
fierce advocate for our community, and the type of representative that folks in
South and West Texas deserve. We need leaders focused on getting aid into the
