A New ADL Institute Fights Antisemitism with Hard Data
This week, ADL announced the launch of its Ratings & Assessments Institute (RAI), designed to identify and address antisemitism and the pervasive challenges Jewish individuals face across diverse sectors, through rigorous research and collaboration. By tracking antisemitism with hard data, we aim to highlight these issues, hold institutions accountable and empower change.
RAI will spearhead several critical projects, starting with an update to the

Campus Antisemitism Report Card. Other projects will look into anti-Jewish bias in artificial intelligence systems, evaluate state government efforts to take on antisemitism, assess corporate efforts to combat antisemitism among the country’s largest public companies and more.

WATCH: Campus Antisemitism Conversation: This week ADL hosted a "Fighting Hate from Home" discussion focusing on campus antisemitism. Jonathan Greenblatt, ADL's CEO and National Director; Adam Lehman, President and CEO of Hillel International and Penn Jewish student leader Maya Harpaz joined ADL VP of Advocacy Shira Goodman for the conversation, which explored alarming findings from ADL and Hillel's recent campus climate report but also noted that there have actually been some improvements on campus lately, with far fewer of the kinds of mass protests that intimidated Jewish students last year. We encourage you to

Ceasefire Sparks Antisemitism, Support for Terror from Anti-Zionist Activists: An
[link removed]
ADL report reveals how, as much of the world welcomed the prospect of a pause in hostilities and the release of hostages, leading voices in the U.S. anti-Zionist movement responded by doubling down on extreme and inflammatory positions and support for violent action. Groups including Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) renewed their explicit veneration of violence against Israelis, calls for the destruction of Israel and demonization of the vast majority of the Jewish community by calling to eliminate Zionism.

Inside Accelerationism: An ADL backgrounder shares insights on

accelerationism, an extremist belief rooted in some segments of the white supremacist movement that society is irredeemable, and that acts of violence and destabilization can “accelerate” a perceived inevitable societal collapse and usher in a white ethnonationalist state in the chaotic aftermath. White supremacist accelerationism has inspired multiple terrorist plots and attacks in countries around the world, with most of them targeting Jews, Muslims, immigrants, people of color and the LGBTQ+ community. Among the attacks credited to accelerationists was the deadly 2019 shooting at the Chabad of Poway synagogue in California.

Good Sports: The ADL

Sports Leadership Council annual meeting last week brought together influential stakeholders across leagues to address antisemitism and hate on and off the field. Participants included representatives from the NHL, NFL, NBA, MLB, NCAA and other organizations. The discussions, led by ADL experts, shined a light on key challenges and opportunities around combating hate, fostering openness and leveraging sports as a platform for social change. A highlight was remarks from NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman, who helped spark a thought-provoking conversation about the pendulum swing that sports and society has seen over the last few months, and how sports organizations need to balance their advocacy
work in a shifting landscape.

Tell Congress to Support the Antisemitism Awareness Act. The tide of campus antisemitism is alarming, so now is the time to speak out on behalf of Jewish students. Join ADL in urging Congress to pass the Antisemitism Awareness Act — giving the Department of Education the tools it needs to investigate antisemitic harassment and discrimination on campuses.

We filed an #AMICUS brief on Wednesday along with 16 other Jewish orgs in support of the Promoting Security and Justice for Victims of Terrorism Act. The PSJVTA targets the "Pay for Slay" program, in which terrorists who murder civilians have been rewarded with stipends. The PSJVTA is also a critical tool for bringing some measure of justice to the families of victims.

Heartened by @usedgov's decision to investigate antisemitism at these five universities. It sends a clear message that all academic institutions should heed. Bias and bigotry against Jewish students and staff will not be ignored. No matter how you dress it up, antisemitism will not be dismissed. Jeopardizing the safety and well-being of Jewish students will not be tolerated.

We are troubled to learn that President Trump has nominated Joe Kent to be director of the National Counterterrorism Center. Joe Kent has promoted multiple conspiracy theories and has been associated with individuals who have extremist ties, including to groups such as the Proud Boys, Patriot Prayer, Groypers and Three Percenters, some of which have a history of violence. The National Counterterrorism Center, which protects Americans from domestic and foreign threats, is key in protecting communities often targeted by extremists and this choice is a very concerning one.

It’s disturbing every time we hear about another antisemitic act. But it’s gut-wrenching when a young child is targeted. Baseless and cruel attacks like this one reflect a global trend of increasing antisemitism. We stand with Italy's Jewish community.
