Dear John, Today, I’ll be sworn in at City Hall to serve Region 1 alongside Melissa Hughes, the appointed School Board Member for our region, and the rest of the new Providence School Board. Over the past few weeks, we’ve engaged in professional development, learning how to become a student outcome-focused board. I’m optimistic that this fresh board, with a razor-sharp focus on student success, will be the one to help bring our schools back. In the coming days, we’ll be finalizing our plans, and I’ll be advocating for us to listen to you—the community—to shape our vision for the work ahead. This work isn’t easy, and it isn’t cheap. Since being elected but not yet sworn in, I’ve hosted a virtual community meeting, attended other community meetings, and remained responsive to the community. To keep this work going, I need to cover expenses for my website, Zoom, and community listening sessions. Please consider making a donation to ensure I start the year with the necessary resources. Unfortunately, my campaign account is currently in the negative due to these expenses. Today, our goal is to raise just $500 to cover website costs, Zoom, and potential community listening sessions. Every contribution helps—thank you for your support! |
