As I said months ago, School Choice is a top priority.
Texans across the political spectrum agree that parents must have options to choose the school that best fits the needs of their child to ensure their success. Voters have spoken clearly during the primary and general elections; the time for School Choice in Texas is long overdue.
Since 2015, the Senate has passed School Choice five times. It died in a Republican-controlled House each time. That is unacceptable and inexcusable.
Yesterday, the Texas Senate passed School Choice for the sixth time in record speed.
The Texas Senate’s passage of SB 2 is the biggest launch of any universal School Choice program in American history, with $1 billion in funding for 100,000 students. Senator Creighton, R-Conroe, has done an outstanding job authoring and carrying this bill.
With an expanded Republican majority in the Texas House, there is no reason Texas students should be left behind. Parents must be able to make the best decisions for their children so they can receive the education that fits their unique needs.
The Senate will pass School Choice over and over again until the House passes this bill. The days of limiting millions of Texas students to a one-size-fits-all approach are over.

Last Friday, I concluded a 90-minute lunch in the West Wing with President Trump and leaders from across the country on School Choice. The President is all in on School Choice and will help in any way needed to be sure School Choice finally passes through the Texas House.

Another huge victory for President Donald Trump, who’s been in office only two full weeks. As Mexico did in his first term, they’re sending 10,000 troops to their border to stop the flow of illegal immigrants, terrorists, criminals, Fentanyl, and other contraband. Canada has also caved; President Trump understands the power of tariffs!
A Huge Polling Number on Banning THC
This is a huge polling number on the issue of banning THC, right out of the box. Texans see these stores everywhere: in their neighborhoods and especially around schools where children have easy access. People simply don’t want them around.
Once our Senate hearings begin, the full facts will come out. There are over 8,000 locations, almost all opening in just the last few years, selling dangerous amounts of THC to kids and adults alike. Once the facts are out in the open, there is no doubt these public polling numbers will rise as more Texans demand a ban on these dangerous THC products.
