John,
From the cost of diapers to eggs to
your kids’ clothes and sneakers, I know inflation is making life
harder for everyday New Yorkers. That’s why I am laser-focused on
putting money back in New Yorkers’
pockets.

Let’s do some math. When we
add up all of our affordability proposals for the average family of
five:
+ $2,500 for 2 children under the
age of four and 1 school-aged child from our Child Tax
Credit
+ $500 from our first-ever
Inflation Refund
+ $1,600 for 1 school-aged child because of free
school breakfast and lunch
+ savings from our historic
Middle Class Tax Cut
That’s a total of nearly $5,000 in
the pockets of many New York families!
But that’s not all. From babies to
college students to older New Yorkers, we’re taking action to make a
real difference in the lives of everyone who calls the Empire State
home:
If you have a question about how
we’re working to make life more affordable for New Yorkers, you can
submit it at ny.gov/askthegov – you may get an answer in a future email
or video!
Your family is my fight – whatever
I can do to lift you up, I’m going to do
it.
Ever Upward,
Gov. Kathy Hochul
