This is important, Friend,
Just last week, President Trump’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) moved to illegally cut funding for all federal programs, grants, and aid programs. This includes disaster unemployment assistance, clean air monitoring, safe drinking water, low-income home energy assistance, and so much more, creating chaos and harming people in every state. Tens of thousands of supporters like you stepped up and spoke out, and it made the Trump administration stumble and try to do damage control. With momentum on our side, we need to press ahead to block the root cause.

This didn’t come out of nowhere, Friend. All of these extreme plans are laid out in Project 2025, and their chief architect is Russell Vought, Trump’s nominee for Director of OMB.
Vought is not fit for this office, plain and simple. His goal is to use OMB, a powerful agency within the White House that develops and executes the president’s budget and oversees policy implementation across federal agencies, to hollow out the ability of the government to help our communities by any means necessary, so that his billionaire cronies can get even richer.
He pushes fringe legal theories that claim the president has the right to withhold funds for programs that help working families (spoiler alert, that’s illegal). He has proposed cutting the budget for the EPA by as much as 30%, and once said of EPA “We want their funding to be shut down so that the EPA can’t do all of the rules against our energy industry because they have no bandwidth financially to do so.”
He has already revived his illegal effort from the end of President Trump’s first term to strip civil service protections from tens of thousands of federal workers, known as “Schedule F” or “Schedule Career/Policy,” with the goal of replacing career professionals with extreme Trump loyalists who would steamroll objective concerns, such as science showing the harmful public health impact of certain pollutants. And he is well known for his contempt for civil servants, even suggesting that he wants to put them “in trauma.”
This is as terrible as it sounds — and should be disqualifying. Russell Vought is a dangerous, self-described Christian nationalist ideologue who wants to permanently damage federal environmental protections for his billionaire buddies. The cuts he has repeatedly proposed threaten the air we breathe, the water we drink, and affordable clean energy that will help prevent catastrophic climate change. This extreme agenda would harm communities across the country with Vought at the helm of OMB.
