Dear Friend,
This week at the 67th GRAMMY Awards, GLAAD made sure LGBTQ voices were heard on music's biggest night, standing up against misinformation and relentless political attacks. We've done the same across major news outlets, sports organizations like the NFL, and other influential spaces — ensuring that those with the biggest platforms champion LGBTQ rights rather than erase them.
This work is about more than visibility, it's about impact. But we can't shift culture alone.
As GLAAD's new head of Development, it is my job to ensure our dreams for the future have a viable foundation in the present. And right now, the progress we have built over decades is under attack.
For the past several years, a small but well-funded group has pushed out countless false stories about the LGBTQ community, especially transgender people. These stories, plus hundreds of anti-LGBTQ legislative bills, are fueling increased violence against LGBTQ people, including bullying, targeting of Pride events, bomb and mass shooting threats, and more.
Now, the new administration is creating more chaos, stripping away our rights in an attempt to legislate us out of existence… The task at hand is formidable.
But with 40 years of experience and expertise in media advocacy, GLAAD is ready to respond — and I hope you're ready to join us as a 2025 GLAAD Member.
When you do, you'll receive full access to our exclusive 2025 Action Plan. And because I'm confident GLAAD is the vigilant media watchdog we need right now, I want to give you a glimpse into our plans for this year.
