This is just embarrassing –
Tuesday's Republican gubernatorial primary debate was, in the words of participant Ed Durr, “a couple of guys [arguing] about who’s more Trump-like.”

If that’s enough to convince you that these candidates are painfully unqualified to be governor, then we need your help right now. Turning out the voters we need to win in November will require grassroots support like yours. We have already started hosting events with coalitions across the state and voter engagement events but there are costs. And every dollar counts towards turning out voters to vote Democrat. Will you chip in $ now to help us defend our New Jersey values? [[link removed]]

It was hard to decipher what each candidate stood for, spending most of the time talking over each other and exchanging petty insults.
However, they DID find common ground by attacking undocumented immigrants, transgender people, and other marginalized groups in New Jersey:
* Jack Ciattarelli called Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion policies “affirmative action on steroids” and vowed to support Donald Trump’s efforts to get rid of them.
*
* Bill Spadea called for an end to the ‘transing’ of children, referring to a far-right conspiracy theory that public schools are encouraging children to transition. And called the life saving COVID-19 vaccine an “experimental jab”.
*
* Ed Durr, when asked about transgender rights, said, “Sometime around 7th or 8th grade, we all take biology, and we learn that X and Y means you're a guy,” once again attacking trans people by denying their existence.
Our next governor should be focused on moving New Jersey FORWARD , not spreading hate and divisive rhetoric. If there is one thing our party can agree on, we must work together to elect a Democratic governor this November. The choice this November couldn’t be more clear – we must ensure none of these candidates get anywhere near the governor’s office. Will you chip in to help us turn out voters and elect strong, competent leadership for New Jersey? [[link removed]]
