I believe in something pretty straightforward about the American dream—if you work hard and play by the rules, you’ve got a shot at it.

The thing is, folks are working hard—yet the cost of housing, groceries, and just about everything else remains too high. The corporate stranglehold on our economy is ripping people off across the country.

Republicans have controlled all of our federal government for weeks now, and they've done nothing to bring down costs. They’ve done nothing to break the corporate stranglehold on our economy, and they're not going to—because they do the bidding of their robber baron bosses. Here in Washington they care about one thing: helping robber barons plunder everybody else.

Their plan is tax giveaways to corporations and the ultra-rich. That is the only economic program they have. But let’s be real, trickle-down economics has never worked for America. It never worked for Western Pennsylvania.

That’s why I'm working to stop corporations from ripping people off—by breaking up monopolies and staying focused on what really matters: making life better for everyone, restoring the American dream, bringing down costs, and defending our freedom.

But here’s the truth: I can’t take on this power alone. The GOP is backed by robber barons and special interests that will spend whatever it takes to keep their grip on our economy.
