"In Israel, where the rights of the stranger (read: Palestinians) are about to be trampled as the country prepares to annex much of the West Bank, do the words “caring for the stranger” mean anything anymore?"
Barbara Green, long-time APN activist, in Washington Jewish Week: The connection between Shavuot, the book of Ruth, and annexation.

Seven Reasons for Opposing West Bank Annexation
It is illegal... It is an obstacle to peace... It is anti-democratic... It may destroy Israel as a Jewish national homeland... It will damage Israeli security... It will damage Israel’s international relations... It will damage Israel’s relations with world Jewry...

Tell JNF: "Don't uproot the Sumarin family!"
Sumarins have lived in their family-built home in Jerusalem for 50 years. A case brought by the Jewish National Fund's subsidiary organization, Himanuta, intends to evict this family based on Israel's unjust "Absentee Property Law" - and even an abuse of that law itself.
This action is part of a larger effort by Israeli settler organizations and their backers in the government to "Judaize" East Jerusalem at the expense of its inhabitants, like the Sumarin Family.
The eviction can be stopped, and you can help by participating in the email campaign - now approaching 30,000 sent! - with APN and Peace Now part of an international coalition.
Go HERE to see more information, a video with interviews from Sumarin Family members, and a link to send an email to JNF.
PeaceCast Episode #128: "Annexation: Official Palestinian Reaction" with Saeb Erekat
An edited version of a May 22, 2020 briefing call with Saeb Erekat, the secretary general of the PLO’s Executive Committee, and one of the Palestinian leadership’s chief diplomats. For years, Dr. Erekat was the chief Palestinian negotiator with Israel, and in the eyes of many personifies the Palestinian commitment to a two-state peace accord with Israel.

Peace Now Submits Petition to Block Allocation of West Bank Land to Build Settlement
This case, brought by Peace Now and more than a dozen Palestinian landowners, will be the first time the issue of land allocation in the Occupied Territories is being brought to trial. The plan will double the size of the settlement of Efrat and severly impede Palestinian territorial contiguity in the Bethlehem area, seriously jeopardizing the prospect of reaching a two-state agreement.
Peace Now: "The decision to allocate a-Nahla land for a new settlement is illegal, immoral and un-Jewish."
Washington Jewish Week: "The connection between Shavuot, the book of Ruth, and annexation"
by Barbara Green, APN activist
Shavuot commemorates the giving of the Ten Commandments at Mount Sinai... When I lived in Israel decades ago I spent Shavuot on a kibbutz. It was thrilling to see children carrying baby lambs, goats and calves into the dining hall to show off the living fruits of the new harvest...
