The last several weeks have shown that this Administration — and the billionaires who stand behind it — are willing to throw working people to the side to get what they want.
What do they want? More control, more power, and fewer working people getting in their way.
We can’t allow this to happen—LET’S FIGHT BACK AND FIND A WAY TO BUILD THE POWER WE NEED AT EVERY LEVEL.
Tell Governors what they do MATTERS a whole lot, we need them to protect workers' rights NOW.
If pathways to protecting workers at the federal level are being weakened, such as the firing of pro-worker members of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), then we must look to the states to stand with us.
Workers in every place and of every race have a track record of getting state governments to support working people.
Over the last few years:
• Michigan ended Right to Work AND Michigan Home Care Workers won back their right to their union;
• California fast food workers (like me!) won their union AND a $20/hr minimum wage across the state;
• Minnesota secured a handful of sweeping wins from mandatory paid sick days to a nursing home standards board;
• And multiple states have ramped up strike protections, made it easier for workers to unionize (go Gig Workers in Massachusetts!), and passed laws that require safety meetings in the workplace
