After unelected oligarch Elon Musk‘s team improperly accessed classified information and illegally shut down the USAID agency without the authorization of Congress — a clear violation of the Constitution, my colleagues and I went over to the USAID HQ to defend our democracy.
Now, Musk is lashing out—falsely accusing me of treason and corruption simply because I stood up to him. Here’s what he posted:
The truth is this: The only illegal action that occurred was Musk’s unauthorized interference with USAID — something only Congress has the power to control.
No matter how many lies Musk spreads, we know what this is really about: retribution. This is the same tactic we saw when Trump tried to extort Ukraine, and now Musk is weaponizing his platform to attack me for standing on the side of democracy.
But I’m not backing down. Not now. Not ever. But standing up to him and his billionaire MAGA buddies won't be easy. He’s going to continue to throw attacks my way and we need to be ready to fight back.
