Antisemitism Renewed. Since the recent ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, ADL has tracked a

new wave of antisemitic rhetoric, glorification of violence, calls for Israel’s destruction and demonization of Zionism from anti-Israel groups like Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) and Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP). Despite the temporary pause in hostilities, these groups continue to spread inflammatory messaging at rallies and online, reinforcing positions that have been the cornerstone of their activism post-10/7.

DEEPER: ADL also announced on Wednesday the launch of its new

Ratings and Assessments Institute (RAI), which is designed to identify and address antisemitism, and the pervasive challenges Jewish individuals face across diverse sectors, through rigorous research and collaboration. RAI will be spearheading projects including but not limited to the Campus Antisemitism Report CardTM, State Antisemitism Index and a Bias and Accountability Index.

Michigan State. In anticipation of the launch of an investment advisory committee at Michigan State University, anti-Israel groups are already vowing to

protest further if they don’t like the committee’s decisions. The new committee, which will be appointed by the MSU president and include students, faculty and staff, will be tasked with making non-binding recommendations on “non-financial” justifications such as BDS when making decisions about school investments. The committee is an outcome of efforts by the administration to placate protesters last year when demonstrations at MSU and elsewhere were at their peak.

HHS The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has

launched investigations into four medical schools—Harvard, Columbia, Brown, and Johns Hopkins—over reports of antisemitism during their 2024 commencement ceremonies. The investigations will assess whether the schools violated Title VI of the Civil Rights Act and Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act. HHS cited displays of offensive symbols and expressions allegedly supporting terrorist organizations. “Every student deserves access to educational opportunities free from discrimination and harassment,” Acting Civil Rights Director Anthony Archeval said, emphasizing that the investigations reflect HHS’s commitment to ensuring safe, non-discriminatory learning
environments.

Harvard. Harvard’s graduate student union has

withdrawn a labor complaint that accused the university of illegally surveilling workers during last spring's anti-Israel encampment in Harvard Yard. The complaint, which was filed in May, was dropped on January 10th, ahead of President Donald Trump’s inauguration. Union officials cited concerns that changes made to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) under the new administration could lead to broader rollbacks of labor protections. “We just don’t know if they might be pulling out long-held labor rights,” said one union trustee. The NLRB, now without a quorum following recent firings by the new administration, formally approved the withdrawal on Monday.

Shouting From the Rooftops. Jacqueline Snidman-Stren, a Concordia student and CAMERA Fellow asked, “How loud must we shout before politicians enact laws restricting this behavior, and school administrators better enforce the code of conduct policies at their universities?” In a recent article, she described how Jewish students at Concordia University braced for an

unsafe campus on the anniversary of 10/7. Anti-Israel groups like SPHR Concordia, staged disruptive protests glorifying Hamas’ attack, vandalized buildings, stormed police barriers and chanted pro-Intifada slogans, despite a court injunction against campus disruptions. Jacqueline and countless Jewish students and Jewish campus organizations did not shy away and continue to demand stronger action from the university.

Charles Bronfman Puts His Money Where His Mezuzah Is. At 93-and-a-half years young,

philanthropist Charles Bronfman is securing his legacy —and Birthright Israel’s future—with a $25 million posthumous donation to the program’s endowment fund. Passionate about connecting young Jews to their heritage, Bronfman sees Birthright as a crucial antidote to rising antisemitism. His contribution kicks off a long-term funding initiative, encouraging others to contribute. As he contemplates his legacy, Bronfman jokes he’ll aim for 119 years—just shy of the traditional Jewish blessing for 120—so he can “renegotiate.”

Untold Stories.

Testigos Del Terror, a new Spanish-language docuseries from Fuente Latina, chronicles the devastating impact of Hamas’ 10/7 attack on Latin American communities in Israel. Through survivor testimonies and accounts from hostages' families, the series exposes the terrible atrocities victims went through, including torture and people being burned alive. Aimed at raising awareness in Spanish-speaking audiences, it emphasizes that Latinos were also victims of the massacre. The documentary premieres February 20 in Los Angeles. “We felt we had to do justice to these stories and not just tell them in a soundbite form,” said Leah Soibel, Fuente Latina’s Founder and CEO.
