John, I’ve heard from hundreds of Common Cause members expressing their concerns and frustration since Donald Trump designated Elon Musk a “special government employee” with free reign to dismantle crucial government functions like medical research, environmental protections, and aid to those in need as he pleases.
From encouraging a pardon on the violent January 6th insurrectionists to using his DOGE task force to gain full access to the Treasury Department’s payment systems, Musk’s actions are directly threatening millions of Americans’ day to day lives.
Simply put, Elon Musk is out of control. Common Cause has stood on the front lines against billionaires attempting to use our government to line their pockets, but Elon Musk might be our toughest fight yet.
