Friend, for the 564,000 displaced children in Ukraine, there is no reprieve from the bitter cold. Temperatures regularly drop to -20°C/-4°F. Damage to key energy and heating infrastructure — leading to limited access to electricity, heat and water — has left families vulnerable in their own homes.
For many families, this will be their hardest winter yet.
A winter care package can make a huge difference. With support from people like you, UNICEF’s efforts in Ukraine will:
- Strengthen heating systems by providing gas boilers, large and small capacity heating pumps and power plants
- Ensure the functionality of water, sanitation and hygiene services to meet families’ basic needs
- Provide winter support to vulnerable children and families through cash assistance, support to local service centers and expanding access to mental health support
As temperatures continue to drop and children’s lives are threatened, more resources are needed to fight the cold. Send a care package today to help keep children warm >>
Thanks for caring for children,
UNICEF USA
