I’m Justine from iHeartDogs, and I’m writing with an urgent plea. Sloan (aka Sloany Baloney Spumoni), a dog I’ve cared for and fought for nearly five years, and he is now at-risk.

I met him after he was rescued as a stray, badly scarred and blind in one eye from a horrific attack. The evidence suggested he’d been shot and possibly stabbed. These injuries left him blind in his right eye, but what struck me most was his will to keep going.

Earning his trust took time. But once he let me in, I promised him I wouldn’t give up.

I drove 150 miles every week to make sure he had warmth and comfort, even dressing him in jackets each week, hoping someone would see the incredible dog I knew and give him a home.

That home never came.

After his foster placement fell through, Sloan had nowhere to go. I brought him into my home, even though I’m over my HOA and city’s pet limit and facing serious consequences. I’m doing everything I can, but this is temporary, and time is running out.

We have a chance to change his future. I’ve secured him a spot in a specialized training program in Las Vegas. This program is his only shot at building the skills he needs to finally be adopted and stay with his forever family. But we urgently need to raise the funds to get him there.
