Team,

When I joined the Army, I didn’t swear an oath to a king.

I swore an oath to the Constitution of the United States of America—to defend the rights and freedoms that make this country great.

That’s why Donald Trump’s actions since taking office have me so angry.

Before I explain more, I’m asking you to help Democracy Defense Action take on Trump by rushing a contribution of any amount today. [[link removed]]

In one of his first acts, Trump signed an executive order to end birthright citizenship—a right guaranteed by the 14th Amendment for over 150 years. He thinks he can just erase part of the Constitution because it doesn’t suit him.

That’s not all. He tried to freeze billions in federal spending, ignoring Congress’ power of the purse and putting everything from Medicaid to police funding at risk.

And don’t even get me started on his pardons of the January 6th rioters. He set free more than 1500 criminals who brutally beat and tased Capitol Police officers.

The guy even thinks we’re dumb enough to just let him rename the Gulf of Mexico. Give me a break.

Let me be clear: Donald Trump is not a king. He doesn’t get to rewrite the rules or unilaterally decide who is an American. That’s not how democracy works.

We the people decide – it’s written in the first words of the Constitution.

But here’s the thing: Republicans will let Trump be a king if we don’t stand up to them.

Folks, I didn’t serve in the Army to fight for a king. I served to fight for our Constitution—for the idea that no man is above the law.

This is a fight we cannot lose and I’m asking for you to join with me by contributing anything you can today: [[link removed]]
