Folks, I just finished speaking at a USAID rally against DOGE lawlessly shutting down federal agencies.
Trump and DOGE have furloughed THOUSANDS of senior career civil servants and demanded blanket stop-work orders, disrupting life-saving work and putting our country at risk.
Let me be clear: USAID is a pillar of U.S. national security. It supports the global economy, fights terrorism, and saves lives. If Trump and his unelected copresident succeed in shutting it, it will deeply weaken America’s position in the world.
This is unconscionable and unlawful. Trump and DOGE have no legal authority to shut down USAID.
