Dear John,

Last night, my husband told me something that stopped me in my tracks. It was about our son—our 16-year-old, who had just spoken in front of a room full of his peers as part of a leadership program.

He had been asked to share about our recent trip to Washington, D.C., for the inauguration celebrations. I assumed, naturally, that he would highlight the well-known figures we met—diplomats from around the world, Speaker Mike Johnson, and even Donald Trump Jr. That’s what most young people would focus on, right? The names, the connections, the excitement of it all.

But instead, my son did something different.

Unaware that his father had quietly slipped into the back of the auditorium, our son stood up and began speaking to his peers. Instead of focusing on the inauguration, he chose to talk about what happened later in the week—the March for Life. He gave them a brief history of the event and then spoke boldly about how deeply abortion has corrupted our culture. He wasn’t focused on the powerful people we had met—he was focused on the power of standing for truth.

I puzzled over it all night. And then it hit me.

My son understands something that too many in leadership forget: real change doesn’t come from who you know but from what you do. He wasn’t impressed by those who hold power—he was moved by the tens of thousands of people who stood together for the unborn, for life, and for truth.

And isn’t that what CitizenGO is about? We aren’t waiting for politicians to make the right choice—we are stepping up right now, as a movement of people who believe in action.

That’s why I’m so grateful for you. Every time you sign a petition, share an email or take a stand, you are part of something bigger than yourself. And that matters more than you know. Being part of the CitizenGO family has emboldened my son—because he sees he’s not alone. He sees people like you standing firm, refusing to be silenced, and fighting for what is right.

That’s exactly what we’re called to do: to speak truth boldly and to inspire others to do the same. Thank you for leading by example—not just for my son but for every person who needs the courage to stand. Like my son, you’re not waiting on others to act—you are the action.

Thank you for letting me share this with you. As a parent, moments like these remind me why we do what we do—why we speak up, why we stand firm, and why we refuse to be silent. My son reminded me that courage isn’t about who we know but about what we’re willing to do. And I’m grateful to be in this fight alongside you.

Many Blessings,
