Friend,

Even amid the headlines and chaos, I am keeping my head down and doing everything possible to produce results for Illinois and the 17th District.

With that in mind, I’m excited to tell you about my two key committee assignments during the 119th Congress – the House Committee on Agriculture and the House Armed Services Committee. Both posts offer incredible opportunities to make progress here in Illinois’ 17th District and across the country.

As you probably know, House committees dictate the content of bills before they’re presented to the House for a full vote. That means I’ll have a strong voice on legislation related to our district’s historical base of military families, active military personnel, and farmers – and that reflects the majority of this country. In other words, these roles offer precisely what IL-17 needs:

On the Agriculture Committee: I’ll prioritize the needs of Illinois farmers – who are not just an engine for our local economies but a key source for the food our residents put on the table. I will make it my mission that we actually pass a Farm Bill, which will have big implications in how we protect our farm families, secure SNAP funding, and advance new rural development.

On the Armed Services Committee: Our district is home to the Rock Island Arsenal and the 182nd Airlift Wing at the Peoria Air National Guard Base, and this assignment allows me to ensure these installations and our active service members get the support they need to continue their critical missions.
Progress on these issues is what our district cares about – I’ve heard it directly from many of you while talking in our town halls, office hours, and even in line at the grocery store. It’s also true that delivering gains on these issues has shown, time and again, to be key to our broader efforts of winning back working Americans who feel the party has left them.
I’m excited to work, but to stay in a position to make a long-term difference on the issues I’ve discussed here, I’ll need to win re-election in 2026 and help us flip the House so we can set the agenda. That’s where you come in:

Will you chip in $3 to help me defend this seat so I can continue fighting for our shared values in Congress?
