Dear community,
Black trans history is Black history. From the trailblazers who paved the way to the leaders fighting for liberation today, Black trans people have always been at the heart of our movements for justice. This month, check out our social platforms to see our #BlackTransBrilliance campaign unfold [[link removed]] , uplifting the Black trans icons—past and present—who have shaped our fight for freedom.

Throughout February, we’ll be sharing stories of Black trans pioneers like Marsha P. Johnson, Beverly Glenn-Copeland, and so many others whose brilliance continues to guide us. Their legacies remind us that, even in the face of systemic oppression, our communities continue to build, resist, and create spaces of joy and possibility.
But we also know that this moment in history demands more than celebration, it demands action. As anti-trans and anti-Black policies escalate nationwide, TLC is here with resources to help navigate this shifting political landscape [[link removed]] . This Black History Month, we honor Black trans brilliance not just with words, but with action. Together, we build a future where Black trans people are not just remembered, but protected, celebrated, and free.
In solidarity,
Shelby Chestnut
Executive Director
