As Trump, his supporters and the Republican Party continue to use attacks
against DEI to further divide our nation and to heighten white racial fears and
resentment, it is now more crucial than ever for the Democratic Party to stand
up for equality and diversity.

During this time, in Trump’s second administration, the Democratic Party
faces a critical choice: whether to maintain a cautious and often timid
approach to confronting Trump and the right’s push for rolling back social
progress, especially for marginalized people including people of color and
LGBTQ+ individuals, or to fully embrace its capacity and potential for making
our society and democracy one that works for everyone.
