Hi John,
It’s the early days of the Trump administration, and they have already caused chaos and confusion for Coloradans.
The broad executive orders on immigration have been particularly cruel and frightening, and there are reports of ICE raids happening in Colorado today. Under the guise of targeting "violent criminals," we know Trump’s actions also risk separating children from parents, pushing people further into the shadows.
While everyone agrees that violent criminals must be held accountable regardless of their immigration status, Trump’s actions that target everyone from neighbors, business owners, friends, and family members are meant to further their political argument that all immigrants are violent criminals – we know this is flatly not true, and we must rise up for our communities.
During this time, we want to make sure Coloradans of all backgrounds and statuses have access to the resources they need and understand their rights under Trump’s policies:
Colorado Rapid Response Network: Report ICE activity in your neighborhood
Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition: Know Your Rights as an Immigrant
2-1-1 Colorado: Immigrant and Refugee Resources
Denver Immigrant Support Toolkit: Resources for our Denver communities
