Dear John,
U.S. Representative Stauber just re-introduced his extreme anti-Boundary Waters bill in Congress that targets vital protections for America’s cherished Wilderness.
This dangerous bill would:
* Overturn the 20-year mining ban (this historic action was issued just two years ago almost to the day)
* Handback mineral leases to the Chilean mining giant Antofagasta without proper environmental review
* Prevent the courts from weighing in on prospecting permits and mineral leases within the watershed of the Boundary Waters

What's at stake
This bill threatens public input processes critical in the fight to protect the Boundary Waters permanently and goes against the robust scientific, legal, social, and economic record, which demonstrates clearly that the headwaters of America’s canoe country is no place for America’s most toxic industry.
Our plan
Save the Boundary Waters is fighting back, by:
* Partnering with allies in Congress to protect the 20-year mining ban and support permanent protections
* Blocking anti-Boundary Waters add ons from passing as part of must-pass bills
* Rallying grassroots pressure on lawmakers , especially in the Senate, a critical line of defense against these attacks.
We can’t do this without you
Anti-Boundary Waters Congressmembers are determined to sacrifice the Boundary Waters for corporate profit, but we won’t let them win. Your action today is critical in fighting back and ensuring this dangerous bill fails.
Take action right now to make sure this anti-Wilderness bill has no pathway forward.
Together, we have proven that the will of the people, combined with unrelenting advocacy, can protect the Boundary Waters. Stand with us. Fight back. Secure a future where the Boundary Waters remains wild, pristine, and free of toxic copper mining forever.
We can’t let our progress backslide.
