Climate Leadership Council Welcomes Dan Giamo to Amplify Policy Efforts

WASHINGTON, DC – The Climate Leadership Council announced today that Dan Giamo has joined the Council as Director, Policy. Giamo will be responsible for helping guide the Council’s work advancing policies that marry global emissions reductions with other national priorities including promoting U.S. exports, securing supply chains for critical minerals, and increasing U.S. investment and influence abroad.

“The Council’s latest hire Dan Giamo has built relationships across government, led efforts to build bipartisan consensus, and advised senior White House officials on emissions reductions strategies, international development, and foreign policy decisions. He will add valuable experience and new ideas to advance our mission,” said CEO Greg Bertelsen.

After serving as an officer in the U.S. Army, Giamo entered the executive branch and held roles during both the first Trump administration and the Biden administration. He was most recently the acting Chief of the International Economic Affairs Branch at the White House’s Office of Management and Budget and previously served as the Director for Legislative Affairs at the National Security Council. In his new role, Giamo will serve as an expert for both the Council and its Center for Climate & Trade.

“I’m excited to join the Climate Leadership Council and contribute to the pragmatic work their team is doing to advance policies that promote international climate ambition and global emissions reductions while strengthening the American economy,” said Giamo. “I look forward to partnering with the Council’s influential network of stakeholders on developing creative and effective solutions.”
