Today, at 11:00 a.m. CDT, Alabama State Health Officer Dr. Scott Harris and I will be sharing updates about the status of COVID-19 in Alabama and insights on the latest health data since the latest safer-at-home order began.

Alabama was making good progress, but recently we have started to see an increase in cases. Part of this is due to more testing, but we are also seeing outbreaks of new cases in some parts of the state. I want to encourage you to try and stay home as much as possible, but if you need to go out then please practice social distancing and wear a mask. I know we are all eager to get back to a sense of normalcy, but to do so we need to work together and follow the guidance of our public health experts and the data. The more we can all do now, the better off we'll be down the road.
