The richest man on the planet, who is a private citizen and not an elected
official, is wreaking havoc and executing a rapid, hostile takeover of the
federal government with President Donald Trump’s blessing.

This week, billionaire Elon Musk and his team of 19 to 24-year-old aides:
* Acquired full access to the Treasury Department’s payment systems
despite their lack of proper security clearance;
* Threatened to shut down the U.S. Agency for International Development
(USAID) while locking the agency’s employees out of their office and
computers;
* Offered all federal employees a “buyout” that promises pay through
September 30 for workers who resign their current government roles by
February 6 and pursue “more productive” work in the private sector.
This isn’t normal, but our Attorney General
is on top of it. Yesterday, Rob joined a coalition of 12 attorneys general
to warn federal workers about Trump and Musk’s questionable “deferred
resignation” program.
He pointed out that this supposed buyout is a clear attack aimed at
dismantling our federal workforce and sowing chaos for Americans who rely
on a functioning government. Rob urges federal employees to heed warnings
from their unions to be very cautious of any buyout offers.
Know that as we navigate these uncertain times and attempted attacks from
the far-right MAGA administration, Rob is doing everything he can to fight
back where necessary and stand up for California’s working families,
including federal employees.
