 Corps of Engineers Begins Phase 2 of Debris Removal in LA Wildfire Recovery
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has officially begun Phase 2, marking a critical step in the region’s recovery efforts. The first sites to undergo clearing are two schools in the Pasadena Unified School District, where crews will remove hazardous debris to ensure a safe path forward for rebuilding. Weekday Rain Weather and the Pacific Coast Highway Closed From Malibu to LA
Rain is expected in Los Angeles County later today and tomorrow. Due to an increased chance of mud and debris flow in recent burn areas, Caltrans announced that Pacific Coast Highway is closed beginning Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 3 PM. The closure is from Chautauqua Blvd. in Los Angeles to Carbon Beach Terrace in Malibu.

Los Angeles County Recovers Press Conference on Wednesday
Tomorrow morning, on Feb. 5 at 8 AM, Supervisors Kathryn Barger and Lindsey Horvath will host a press conference with Sheriff Robert Luna, Public Works Director Mark Pestrella and Public Health Director Dr. Barbara Ferrer to present the latest updates on the process now underway to recover from the devastating Palisades and Eaton fires, including details about the debris removal process and public health guidance on safely returning to damaged and destroyed properties.

Supermarkets Team Up with FEMA and SBA to Offer Resource Stations in Impacted Communities
From now until Saturday, recovery resource stations with representatives from FEMA and the Small Business Administration are located at Ralphs and Food 4 Less stores in Malibu, Venice, and Pasadena.
The resource stations are open daily from 9 AM to 5 PM until Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025.

Residents must choose whether to opt-in or opt-out of the free nonhazardous debris removal program. Those with questions can call the Fire Debris Hotline, or get help completing the form at (844) 347-3332. In-person assistance is also available at the Disaster Recovery Centers open 9 AM to 8 PM.
