JAMIE RASKIN: Elon Musk didn't create USAID, and he doesn't have the power to destroy it. And who's going to stop him? We are! We're going to stop him...We don't have a fourth branch of government called 'Elon Musk'

After months of stunned confusion, Axios reports Democrats are FINALLY "unleashing a wave of angry spectacles to show they are doing something to fight."

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow reports: "Democratic members of the House and Senate stood with protestors gathered outside the Washington headquarters of USAID to denounce the Trump administration illegally shuttering that agency."

And former Biden Press Secretary Jen Psaki says, "It hasn’t been very clear what Democrats are doing to push back — and that’s a problem. But the good news is, we have started to see some signs of life."

Today, Democrats will protest at the Treasury Department – ground zero for Elon Musk’s coup.

When Democrats FIGHT, they deserve our support. This will also send a message to their colleagues to get with it and follow their lead.

Politico writes, "Democrats have leverage against Musk. They’re girding to use it."

At the protest outside USAID, Jamie Raskin declared, "Elon Musk didn't create USAID, and he doesn't have the power to destroy it. And who's going to stop him? We are! We're going to stop him...We don't have a fourth branch of government called 'Elon Musk'."

Rep. Ilhan Omar warned, "This is what the beginning of dictatorship looks like. When you gut the constitution and install yourself as the sole power, that is how dictators are made."

Sen. Brian Schatz called out Trump and Musk's blatant lawlessness: "You cannot wave away an agency you don’t like or disagree with by executive order or literally storming into the building and taking over the servers."

This morning, after consulting with former Treasury officials, we sent this "worst case scenarios" memo to Democratic offices showing the potential impacts of Musk's hostile takeover on everything from Social Security to the debt ceiling.

Which is to say that this moment demands courage. These Democrats and others who were at USAID yesterday are showing it. Others are watching to see how the public reacts. So now it’s our turn.
