This month, we join Americans around the country in celebrating Black History Month.

The long fight for civil liberties has a fascinating and important history. Now more than ever, we must resolve never to forget the lessons of history … and make sure we apply those lessons to the conflicts of today.

Thankfully, Independent Institute has a new book ([link removed]) hitting bookshelves TODAY to help us do just that.

In the long-awaited updated edition of Race & Liberty in America: The Essential Reader ([link removed]) , Research Fellow Jonathan J. Bean—professor, author, editor, and member of the Illinois State Advisory Panel for the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights—draws on the timeless and urgent insights from America’s most principled anti-racist heroes.

With contributions from leading voices like Thomas Sowell, Coleman Hughes, Thomas Chatterton Williams, Wilfred Reilly, Kenny Xu, David Bernstein, and Ilya Somin—as well as a plethora of primary source evidence from recent landmark US Supreme Court decisions—this book is key to helping American race relations prosper and thrive.

You’ll learn how the timeless principles of classical liberalism shaped law and public opinion for the better … and how they provide the necessary corrective to the way we address race relations today.

If you’re ready to trade the tired and failed left-versus-right politics for timeless principles that actually work and uplift societies, order Race & Liberty in America.
