Hundreds will be gathering for a protest TONIGHT in DC against Trump and Musk’s attempted takeover of government’s spending. We’ll be joining them, and we need you with us. Here’s why:
Over the weekend, Elon Musk and DOGE — which is NOT an official government agency — were given total access to the US Treasury’s federal payment system.
Reports say that his team — which includes unqualified 19-25 year olds who have never worked in government — now have access to the social security numbers, banking information, and tax records of every US citizen.
And according to WIRED, these systems control roughly $6 trillion in payments annually, or more than a fifth of the US economy, including Social Security checks, Medicare reimbursements, tax refunds, and more.1
Musk and his staff at DOGE have hijacked America’s checkbook in order to further enrich themselves and their billionaire friends — and Trump’s cabinet picks are letting Musk steamroll them in his naked pursuit of more money and power. It’s a hostile takeover that is already punishing working families. And we need a mass movement to combat it.
