John,
Far too many people have struggled to afford their lives due to the outrageously high cost of insulin.
In 2018, the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office sued the three largest insulin manufacturers—Eli Lilly, Sanofi, and Novo Nordisk—for deceptively pricing their products, which forced uninsured and underinsured Minnesotans to pay astronomical out-of-pocket costs.
At that time, it could cost hundreds of dollars to fill an insulin prescription. But today, thanks to the settlements we finalized last week, Minnesotans can purchase insulin for just $35 a month.
This settlement, along with those we reached last year, guarantees that for the next five years, all Minnesotans will have access to free or low-cost insulin, with the ability to choose products that work best for them. This is a huge victory for the advocates and activists who fought for years, often through tragedy, for this outcome.
While this lawsuit has been resolved, our work is far from over. We’re committed to making life more affordable for Minnesotans, and we need your help to keep pushing forward.
John, will you pitch in $10, $25, $50, or whatever works for you today to help us keep fighting for affordability, fairness, and the well-being of every Minnesotan?
