Pam Bondi is up for her final vote in the Senate as early as sometime tonight or tomorrow morning. Together, we have delivered thousands of petition signatures and hundreds of calls to the Senate urging them to reject her nomination for Attorney General. We can’t take our foot off the gas yet—we must continue to resist.
In addition to registering your opposition to Trump loyalist Pam Bondi, when you make calls to the Senate, you are drawing a line in the sand for all the Trump nominees. Together, we are rejecting the worst of the nominees and holding the Senate accountable for their votes. Regardless of how this vote goes, the Senate will have heard from countless activists throughout the nation with a clear message that we’re watching and we will not forget.

Today the Senate Judiciary Committee voted along party lines to advance Pam Bondi’s nomination to be the next Attorney General. The next step is for the Senate to vote to confirm her.

During her committee hearing, Bondi demonstrated that she would bring troubling extremist views and biases to the office of the Attorney General. Among other red flags, Bondi refused to concede that Trump lost the 2020 election and insisted that there was a peaceful transfer of power in 2021. She also failed to say that she would defend birthright citizenship as protected under the 14th Amendment, instead saying she’d “have to study it.”
Let’s be clear: Trump picked Bondi for this position because of her record of loyalty to him and the MAGA agenda. As attorney general of Florida, Bondi decided not to join a lawsuit against Trump University after one of her allied political organizations got an illegal contribution from the Trump Foundation. Her record as attorney general for Florida also included opposing equality for same-sex couples, trying to overturn the Affordable Care Act, and weaking the separation of church and state.
Her history with Trump is well known: she’s represented him several times. She served on his legal team during his first impeachment trial. She also promoted the Big Lie that Trump won the 2020 election, working to undermine our democratic election.
