CHAPTER ANNOUNCEMENTS
- DSA National Democracy Commission Report
- At the 2023 DSA National Convention, delegates approved creating a commission of DSA members to research the internal mechanisms of DSA chapters and other socialist organizations. ?The goal of the commission is to create a list of proposals for the 2025 DSA convention to reform DSA's infrastructure and make it more democratic. ?The Democracy Commission recently released its report for members to review. ?Click here to read the DC's report.
- Best of Luck to North Central Valley DSA!
- The SacDSA Steering Committee voted to cede an area of territories such as Sonora County and some of its neighboring counties so that comrades can create a new DSA chapter. ?The territories in question were nearly 2 hours away from Sacramento and impractical to organize under our banner. ?Ceding this area to a new chapter allows our comrades to better organize with DSA in a way that is closer to their community. ?We look forward to working with NCV DSA going forward.
- International Reading Group, February 6th, 6:30 PM on Zoom
- Socialist Education / Marxist School Update
- Last year, Sac DSA merged with the Marxist School via our Socialist Education Committee. The Marxist School / Soc Ed Committee will be meeting at Old Soul at The Weatherstone, on Sunday, February 9th, at noon to discuss working with PM Press and plan a series of night schools focusing on Palestinian Liberation. ?Remote options will be available.
- Sac DSA 2025 Mission Statement
- After an assessment of chapter resources and member priorities, the Sac DSA 2025 Mission Statement will be ready for a vote at the February GMM. ?The statement shall serve as a plain language, forward-facing document that can guide members when working on Sac DSA projects and inform possible new members about our work for the next year. ?Click here to review the statement draft* (*Subject to minor changes before the final vote)
- Mutual Aid Mondays (see below for date and times)
- Organizing For Power Deadline Extended to February 5th
